Sock KAL and Ravelympics

I finished both the Socks from the toe up KAL for February and my Ravelympic knitting in time.

Here are my socks for the Sock KAL.
They are a teeny tiny bit too short in the foot but they are still wearable. But now I know that I need to make socks a little bit longer next time.

And here is the mitts I knit for Ravelympics. I'm very pleased with how they turned out and I have been wearing them every day this week so far :D

Ravelympic knitting

I decided to frog the mitten I knit last weekend and instead knit mitts with the same pattern except I added 5 rows of K1P1-ribbing in the beginning and the end.

I'm very happy with how this mitten turned out and I can't wait to finish the second one so I can wear them. Tonight I'm going to knit a heel on my Mallow-socks though.

Fun in snow!

Since we've gotten crazy amounts of snow this winter and got some more the last few days I felt it was time for some photos of fun in the snow =D
I'll let the photos do the talking today.

No, he's not lying down, he's standing on top of more snow =D

I'm actually standing on a smaller pile of snow, the "hill" the dogs are on is at least 2 meters high =D

Our front door, our apartment is the windows to the left of the entrance.

Ravelympics and socks

Since Ravelry is hosting Ravelympics during the winter Olympics and I decided to join I assume I should blog a little about it as well.

As my first event I choose Mitten Moguls and Cable Cross-Country, I'm competing with my mittens. Pattern is Bella's Mittens by Marielle Henault. Yarn is Cascade 220 in Savona Rose.

Then I realized that I could dye some yarn for the Downhill Dyeing event. I got out the yarn (60% wool, 20% bamboo & 20% silk) and the Kool-Aid. I used 2 bags of Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade Kool-Aid Twist and 1 bag of Pink Lemonade Kool-Aid. I used less than recommended amount of Kool-Aid since I didn't want the colours to be too bright.
I got my medal for the Downhill Dyeing yesterday, it's to the left =D

I'm also taking part of the Socks from the toe up KAL this month. I'm doing the free patterns though. We're knitting Mallow-socks and I'm using Lorna's Laces Shepherd sock in Daffodil.

I've also gotten a bit farther on my Festivus sock, I've turned my first heel. Keri that wrote the pattern is also the source of all the knitting-bags I use :D

And I've finished my first Bavarian Cable sock and I'm at the heel-turn on my second! Yay! I'm going to try and finish them this month. But I'll probably finish the KAL first.

This weekend I'm going to Syfestivalen, I need to get some DPNs for the thumbs on my mittens and I'm going to look for a Niddy Noddy and some undyed yarn. And maybe a getting-started-kit for spinning yarn.

Swap package from Keri!

Earlier this week my swap-package finally arrived after a 3 day stop at the post office since they didn't let me know they had it there *grr*

It was awesome! I love everything in it!

Keri sent me:
A wonderful interchangeable needle-storage made of beautiful Dala-horse fabric.

A gorgeous accessory-pouch in Navy Fields of Sheep fabric.

Tempted Good Grrl in the color Dala-horse, it's really wonderful.

7 flavors of Kool-Aid so that I can dye some more yarn :D Will use some of these for the Downhill Dyeing event at Ravelympics :D
There was Jerky and chocolate. Chocolate seems to have disappeared, suddenly it was just all gone ;) I've still got most of the Jerky left but only because I put in the cupboard to not eat it all at once.
There were some chew-bones for the dogs. Gin and Bea loved them!

There were also BBQ-sauces & BBQ-rub. And a Caramel Pecan Apple Butter that taste wonderful!
And plastic sheet protectors in US-letter format, it's impossible to get here and I need a couple, now I think I have enough for a lifetime ;)

There was a wonderful white wolf as well.

Wolfie unfortunately arrived with a broken leg but it healed up nicely with some super-glue :)

I really loved my package. And all my interchangeable needles got immediately stuffed into their new home. And the Sheep-bag got filled with my fixed circular needles :) Yarn is waiting for the right pattern but will probably become a shawlette.
BBQ-sauces got tried tonight for dinner and they were great!

Keri is a wonderful swap-partner and I really appreciate having her as my friend.
She's the one who got me to sign up for the Ravelympics as well, all I needed was a nudge ;)

What a diffrence a year makes

I can't belive my little pup is already one year old. It seems like it was only yesterday he was this small.
He's the one in the middle, photo was taken by breeder Helene.

Here he is at 8 weeks on the day we took him home.

And then his ears started to rise so he looked like this.

And he grew and grew. And we started showing him on dog-shows which went very well, he became BIS-2 pup on a big show in August.

And here are a couple of photos from the last week and from his birthday yesterday.

Photo taken by my dad on chirstmas-eve.

With his birthday-present.

Gin one year old!

Bea also got a present but cared more for the treats :-)

Lots of knitting

It's been a while sine my last update. Ive gotten some knitting done, a pair of socks for me, a pair of mittens for my sister. I've also started a new pair of socks for me, a shawl/scarf and a round shawl as well as a pair of gloves.
So this will be a post with lots of photos.

I'll start with my socks.
Here is Mock Cable Socks (pattern by Wendy Johnson) knit with Cherry Tree Hill Supersock select semisolid in Azure.

Next is Bavarian Cable socks (pattern by Wendy Johnson) knit with Wollmeise Sockenwolle Twin 80/20 in Sonne.

Next is the mittens I made for Linda.
The pattern is Bella's Mittens by Marielle Henault, yarn is Cascade 220 in Charcoal Grey.

Here is the first glove of mine. Pattern is Knotty by Julia Mueller, yarn is Cherry Tree Hill in Burnished Berry. THis glove is actually finished but this is the most recent photo.

And here is my circular shawl. Pattern is Order to Chaos by Wendy Johnson. Yarn is Dream in Color Smooshy in Chinatown Apple. I've gotten further along on this shawl but havn't taken any new photos yet.

And last, a scarf/shawl. Pattern is Baktus by Strikkelise. Yarn is BC Garn Lucca Fino Multicolor.

Lots of news

Lots has happened since I wrote last.

Last weekend, on Saturday, we went to a Shiba Inu-meeting/get-together/picnic, it was great. I sold raffle-tickets, and bought some as well. I won some useful stuff.
Gin got to meet his mom as well as his breeders and the people we had as teachers for our puppy-class this spring.
Bea got to lay in the sun for as long as she wanted, and they both got to meet lots of other Shibas which I think they enjoyed.
Here's a pic of Bea in the sun.

On Sunday I went to Kolmården with some Shiba-friends to meet the wolves.
They have a couple of groups of socialized wolves that they use for wolf-encounters. That means you get to go in to the pen with the wolves. It was a wonderful experience and I will go again as soon as I get a chance!
The alpha-male and female decided that my hair was either smelling really nice or wasn't dirty enough. I think I'll just let the photos Susann took say the rest :D

The next couple of wolf-photos are taken by Susann.

I took a few photos my self as well, here they are.

I also had my birthday this week. I got some really nice presents. From Roger I got Doctor Who season 1 and five of Wendy Johnson's sock-patterns. From my parents I got enough yarn (Dream in Colour Smooshy Chinatown Apple) to knit Wendy's Order to Chaos circular shawl. And some training-mats to use for blocking lace. From 2 of my sisters I got shower-stuff from Lush, some of it pictured here along with some Scrubbies I made today. And from my father-in-law and his girlfriend I got some nice Kauni Effekt-yarn that I will use for a triangular shawl I think.

I also finished mom's socks this weekend. She loves them and apparently they fit perfectly :D

Whew! That was a long post.
Goodnight!

Socks and hat

I'm done with the first of mum's socks and almost finished with the increases on the second sock.
In between the socks I finished a hat I started for my self this winter. I havn't got any photos yet but it will come...soon I think. Not sure when.
Not feeling to good right now, hot and cold at the same time, my throath seems a bit scratchy and I've had a massive headache all day(but that's probably since I didn't drink enough water, or fluids at all, yesterday). Drinking tea with honey now hoping it will help.

Mum's sock

Mum's sock is coming along nicely. Got about 4 patternrepeats left and then of course the cudff. Who knows, maybe I'll finish the first sock tonight?

Here's a photo for now.
